Investing 101

This article is actually about a subject that I feel I need to do some research for my own good. Now that I make money online in the marketing I thought that this would be a good idea to learn some investment strategies. At least, knowing what kind of existing investments, so this article is a kind of beginner tutorial on investment. I will go into more detail than any kind in later articles. One thing I know about investing even before conducting this research is that the investment can be relatively safe, extremely risky or somewhere in between. And like anything else in life greater risk of getting bigger prizes. Let's face it, you're not going to get a 50% ROI by putting money into a savings account. Now I was getting about 1.5% interest. Pretty pathetic if you ask me. Which do not invest. Which is just letting your money rot away inside.

So let's see what kind of basic investments we have.

For starters you have a bond. This is also called "fixed income" effect. The reason that they are called this is because the income you get from bonds is fixed. You invest a certain amount in bonds that you purchase and after a certain amount of time, when the bonds mature, you get certain. You basically you loan your money to the government and they pay you back with interest at a later date. Bond investments are relatively free of risk. Therefore return you get is pretty low.

Then there are stock. And let me tell you, there are many stocks out there to invest in than Carter has liver pills. Just check with the NYSE to see how many shares are actively traded. Stocks are riskier than bonds. Shares can be sold for $ 5 per share one day and drop down to $ 1 per share the next day. Imagine investing in stocks in 1000. You will lose $ 4000 in just one day. Conversely stocks can provide a large windfall overnight. The key to investing in shares is to get a good broker who knows the market. And do not worry, she will have your best interests in mind because he wants to make money as well, he gets a percentage of the profit you make on your stocks to invest in.

Then you have your mutual funds. Mutual funds are a collection of stocks and bonds together in one portfolio. When you buy into a mutual fund you really throw in your lot with a group of other investors. The theory behind a mutual fund is that the investment diversification will help prevent against large losses overall investment. My wife IRA is actually part of the mutual funds that are doing very well so far. So this is relatively safe, although a bit riskier than bonds alone.

And then finally you have what they call alternative options which include options, futures, forex, gold, real estate, etc. I'll go into this in detail in a future article.

Investing is no longer a luxury, it is a must. With the value of the dollar continued to fall the only way to provide for your future and your retirement is to invest. If you think I'm kidding, in 1965 a gallon of gas was 32 cents. Now it is up to more than $ 3 where I live. No, the dollar is not worth what it used to be decent.

What is the answer?

Invest.
